Christian Student Fellowship is a non-denominational, evangelical, nurture and outreach ministry (chaplaincy) for students, researchers, faculty, young adults, and their families in the University of Minnesota community. It is our desire to lead people to Christ, to help them grow in their understanding and application of God's Word, to nurture their personal relationships with Jesus, and to motivate them toward significant Christian service and witness.

This statement of faith is not to be construed as creed, but rather an attempt to identify and communicate some of the core beliefs that guide the teachings and practices of our ministry. If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, we welcome your comments.
Statement of Faith
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and arose from the dead (I Cor. 15:1-8). We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His imminent return.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Acts 3:11-15).

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative Word - a lamp for our feet and a light for our path (2 Tim 3:16; Ps. 119).

We believe that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23).

We believe that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord (John 3:16). We believe that salvation is a gift from God given by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8,9).

We believe that those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him (Rom. 10:9; Acts 2:38).

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 4:3-6). We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved (Eph 4:1-16). We believe that in keeping with the pattern of the church presented in Scripture, the church should assemble regularly for the purpose of worship and edification (Acts 2:47; Eph. 4:19,20), mutual encouragement (Hebrews 10:24), teaching, prayer, and the breaking of bread at the Lord's Table (Acts 2:42; 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:26).

We believe that because Christ's mission was to "seek and save the lost" (Luke 19:10) and his command to his disciples was to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Mt.28:18-20), that each Christian and every church and ministry must be committed to evangelism.

We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (I Thes. 4:13-18). We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to life, and the lost to judgment. (John 5:28,29).
